The chamber
BD Advocacy is a chamber of advocates based in Kakrail, Dhaka. Barrister Mohammad Rasel founded the chamber in 2009. It now has 11 advocates (3 Barristers, 4 advocates enrolled in the High Court Division and 4 advocates enrolled in the District Courts), 3 consultants and a Senior Adviser, supported by 2 chamber staff, 2 Judge Court clerks and 2 High Court clerks. Every advocate here is enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council.
We take a limited number of matters at a time. It means the advocate you meet at the first consultation is the one who handles your file, and it is why we sometimes say no to work we could technically take.
How we work
We assess before we advise. We read the papers, check the record where the matter concerns land or a company, and set out the realistic options — including when a claim is not worth running. If you go ahead, the scope and the basis on which fees are calculated are put in writing before anything begins.
How fees work
A preliminary written assessment is given without charge: write to us by email, WhatsApp or the enquiry form and we reply within one working day. A 30-minute video or telephone consultation with the appropriate barrister, advocate or consultant is Tk 10,000, paid at booking and credited against your fee if you instruct us within 30 days.
For everything else, fees depend on the nature and complexity of the matter and the forum it goes to. We do not publish a fee schedule, because the right figure depends on the matter in front of us. The scope and the fee are set out in a written quotation and engagement letter before any work begins, and work starts on a 50% advance. See how to instruct the chamber.

Who will handle my matter?
The advocate you meet at the first consultation handles your file, with support from the chamber team. We take a limited number of matters so that this stays true.
Are all your lawyers enrolled advocates?
Every advocate in the chamber is enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council. Some are also entitled to practise in the High Court Division.
Which languages do you work in?
Bangla and English, for advice, drafting and written updates.
