Common questions
Do I need to travel to Bangladesh?
Usually not. Most land, inheritance and civil work can be done through a power of attorney. Some steps, such as giving evidence in certain cases or appearing as an accused in a criminal case, may need you in person or by video where the court allows it. We tell you at the start.
How do I sign a power of attorney abroad?
It is drafted in the Bangladesh format, signed where you live, and authenticated by the route that applies in your country before it is stamped and, if needed, registered in Bangladesh. See power of attorney from abroad.
Can you deal with my relatives on my behalf?
Yes, with your written instructions. We take instructions only from you, or from the person you name.
How will you keep me updated?
By email or WhatsApp, in English or Bangla, after every step or hearing, with copies of what was filed or ordered.
