Case file review and second opinion, for a fixed fee
Your case has been running for years, or it was dismissed, or you have been told something that does not sound right, or you are abroad and cannot tell whether your lawyer in Bangladesh is on top of it. We read the whole file and give you a written opinion: where the case actually stands, what can still be done, by when, and whether it is worth the money.
Is this you?
- A civil, criminal or family case has been pending for years and you do not understand why
- Your case was dismissed, or decided against you, and you need to know about appeal, revision or review and the deadlines
- You are abroad and want an independent view of what your lawyer in Bangladesh is doing
- You have been offered a settlement and want to know whether to take it
- You want to check a deed, a khatian chain or a contract before you spend money on a case
What we do for you
Reading the file, all of it
Plaint or complaint, written statement, orders, evidence, judgments and the order sheet. We obtain certified copies where you have gaps. We look at what has been filed, what has been missed, and what the court has actually said, not what you have been told.
A written opinion in plain language
Where the case stands today; the next hearing and what will happen at it; the realistic outcomes; the remedies still open (appeal, revision, review, fresh suit, settlement) with their time limits under the Limitation Act; and an honest view of whether continuing is worth it. In English or Bangla.
Dismissed or lost cases
Dismissal for default, dismissal on merits, ex parte decree, acquittal or conviction each have a different route back. We identify the right one and the days you have left, which are often few.
Deeds, title chains and contracts
Before a land purchase or a suit, we review the deed chain, the khatians, the namjari and any pending case, and tell you the risk in writing.
What happens after the opinion
You can take the opinion to your existing lawyer, instruct us for the next step, or stop. The opinion is yours. We do not pressure you to transfer the case, and we check for conflicts before we read anything.
Fees, time and documents
What we need from you
- Case number, court and the names of the parties
- All pleadings (plaint, written statement, petitions), orders and any judgment
- Evidence filed and exhibited, and the order sheet or cause-list history if you have it
- Deeds, khatians, agreements, cheques, notices or other documents at the heart of the dispute
- Letters or messages from your lawyer about the case
- Any settlement offer received
Mistakes we see every week
- Waiting until the appeal period has run out before asking anyone.
- Relying on verbal updates with no copies of the orders.
- Settling a strong case out of fatigue, or continuing a weak one out of anger.
- Buying land because “the seller’s lawyer said it is clean”.
- Changing lawyers repeatedly without a written assessment of what went wrong.

Common questions
What is a case file review?
An independent reading of your entire case file by a barrister or senior advocate, followed by a written opinion on where the case stands, what can still be done, by when, and whether it is worth continuing.
How much does it cost?
A fixed fee, quoted in writing once we know the size of the file. Certified copies are at cost. There is no obligation to instruct us afterwards.
Can you review a case outside Dhaka?
Yes. We work from scans and certified copies, and the case status and orders of most courts are available online. The opinion and the call are the same wherever the case is.
My case was dismissed. Is it over?
Often not. Dismissal for default, an ex parte decree and a decision on the merits each have a route back (restoration, setting aside, appeal, revision or review) with its own time limit. The review tells you which applies and how many days are left.
Will you tell my current lawyer?
Only if you ask us to. The review is confidential. Many clients share the opinion with their lawyer, and good lawyers welcome it.
Do I have to transfer my case to you?
No. The opinion is yours to use. If you want us to act, we quote separately and handle the transfer properly, including the vakalatnama.
I live abroad. How does it work?
You send scans, we obtain what is missing from the court, and the opinion and call are delivered in your time zone. See our NRB court cases service.
Can you review a deed or a contract instead of a case?
Yes. Deed chains, khatians and contracts are reviewed the same way, with a written risk assessment before you commit money.
Fees are confirmed in writing before any work begins. Government fees and court fees are separate and receipted.
Find out where your case really stands
Send the case number and whatever papers you have. We will quote the fixed fee within one working day. A written assessment costs nothing.
