How to Check Case Status, Next Date and Cause List Online in Bangladesh

You no longer have to wait for a clerk to tell you your next date. The Supreme Court and the lower courts publish lists online. Here is where to look and what to do when the record is wrong.

At a glance
  • High Court and Appellate Division matters appear in the Supreme Court's daily cause lists.
  • Lower-court cases can be checked on the judiciary's online case list and the Amar Adalat (MyCourt) app.
  • Search by court, case number and year; the order sheet is still the official record.
  • If the online entry is missing or wrong, ask your lawyer to check the court's register.

In this guide: Where to check · How to search · When the online record is wrong or missing · Certified copies and next steps

The short answer

There are two main online sources. For the High Court Division and the Appellate Division, the Supreme Court publishes a daily cause list showing which matters each bench will take up. For district and lower courts, the judiciary’s online case list (causelist.judiciary.org.bd) and the Amar Adalat (MyCourt) app, launched in 2022, show cases listed for a day, the next date and recent orders.

Online lists are a convenience, not the official record. The court’s order sheet decides, so confirm any important date through your lawyer.

How to search

  1. Pick the division, district and the exact court (for example the Chief Judicial Magistrate or the Joint District Judge court).
  2. Enter the case type, number and year exactly as on your papers.
  3. For the High Court, search the cause list for your case number and note the bench and item number.
  4. Save a screenshot with the date for your records.

When the online record is wrong or missing

  • Not every court uploads every day, and some older cases are not online.
  • A wrong date online does not excuse a missed hearing; the order sheet governs.
  • Ask your lawyer to check the register or get a certified copy of the order sheet.
  • If a warrant or adverse order was passed in your absence, act at once: see our guide on warrants.

Certified copies and next steps

For an appeal, a bail application or a High Court petition you usually need certified copies of the FIR, orders or judgment. Your lawyer applies to the court’s copying section; the cost and time vary by court.

Common questions

How can I check my case status online in Bangladesh?

For lower courts use the judiciary's online case list or the Amar Adalat (MyCourt) app; for the High Court and Appellate Division check the Supreme Court's daily cause list.

How do I find a High Court cause list?

On the Supreme Court website, open the High Court Division cause list for the date and search for your case number to find the bench and item number.

Can I see my next hearing date online?

For courts that upload to the online case list, yes. Confirm with your lawyer, because the order sheet is the official record.

My case is not showing online. Why?

Some courts do not upload every day, and older cases may not be online. Ask your lawyer to check the court register.

What is the Amar Adalat (MyCourt) app?

An app launched in 2022 under the e-Judiciary programme that shows daily case lists, next dates and orders for participating courts.

Can I check a case by the party's name?

Searching usually works best by case number and year. Name searches are not reliable on every system.

What if I missed a date because the online list was wrong?

The online error does not cancel the court's order. Act at once through a lawyer; if a warrant was issued, surrender with a bail or recall petition.

How do I get a certified copy of an order?

Your lawyer applies to the court's copying section with the case details; you collect it when ready.
